Last updated: 31 May 2026
1. Acceptance of Terms
These Terms of Service govern your access to and use of the Recontiq website, products, and services. By accessing or using Recontiq, you agree to be bound by these terms.
If you use Recontiq on behalf of a company, accounting practice, or other organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms. If you do not agree to these terms, you must not use the services.
2. Description of Services
Recontiq provides workflow tools for accounting firms and finance teams, including financial data extraction, transaction classification, reconciliation support, and related automation.
Recontiq is designed to assist professional workflows. It does not provide financial, accounting, tax, or legal advice and is not a substitute for professional judgement. We may improve, update, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time.
3. Accounts and Access
- You must provide accurate and current information when creating an account or requesting access.
- You are responsible for keeping account credentials secure and for activity carried out through your account.
- You must notify us promptly if you become aware of unauthorised access or a security issue affecting your account.
- We may suspend or restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the services, users, or customer data.
4. Acceptable Use
- Use the services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with your professional and regulatory obligations.
- Do not upload malicious code, interfere with the services, bypass security controls, or attempt unauthorised access.
- Do not reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or use automated access methods except where permitted by law or approved by us in writing.
- Do not use Recontiq to process information unless you have the authority, consent, or other lawful basis required to do so.
5. Customer Data
You retain ownership of the information and records you submit to Recontiq. You grant us a limited right to process that data only as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, support, and improve the services in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have authority to upload and process client, financial, and business records through Recontiq. You remain responsible for reviewing outputs and maintaining records required for your work.
6. Connected Services and Source Data
Recontiq may allow you to upload records or connect authorised third-party services, including banking or accounting data sources. You are responsible for selecting appropriate connections, obtaining any required authority, and checking that imported source data is complete and accurate.
You may disconnect an integration or stop submitting source data at any time, subject to the functionality of the relevant service. Third-party connections may also be governed by the provider's own terms and policies.
7. AI-Assisted Outputs and Learning
Some Recontiq features use artificial intelligence or automated methods to generate suggestions, categorisations, extracted data, matches, and other outputs. These outputs are recommendations or workflow aids only.
You must review and verify outputs before relying on them. Recontiq does not guarantee that automated or AI-assisted outputs will be accurate, complete, or suitable for a particular purpose. Where enabled, Recontiq may use your firm's rules, prior coding decisions, and corrections to improve suggestions within your workflow.
8. Third-Party Services
Recontiq may connect with or rely on third-party services, such as hosting providers, identity providers, data providers, or authorised integrations. Your use of a third-party service may also be subject to that provider's terms and policies.
We are not responsible for third-party services outside our reasonable control, but we aim to select and manage service providers with appropriate care.
9. Beta and Pre-Release Features
Some features may be described as beta, preview, trial, early access, or coming soon. These features may change, be unavailable, or contain errors. You should use appropriate care and review when evaluating pre-release features.
10. Pricing and Payment
Where a Recontiq service is paid, applicable pricing, billing arrangements, and any commercial commitments will be disclosed when you subscribe, purchase, or enter into an agreement with us. You are responsible for paying applicable fees when due.
We may update pricing from time to time. Any change affecting an existing paid subscription will be communicated with reasonable notice where required.
11. Intellectual Property
Recontiq retains ownership of the website, platform, software, designs, branding, documentation, and related intellectual property. Except for the limited right to use the services under these terms, no rights are transferred to you.
You must not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or create derivative works from the services except where permitted by law or agreed by us in writing.
12. Availability and Liability
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every feature will always operate without error. You should maintain appropriate checks, backups, and review processes for your work.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Recontiq is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the services. Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts, or modifies rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights that may apply under the Australian Consumer Law.
13. Suspension and Termination
You may stop using Recontiq at any time, subject to any agreed commercial commitments. We may suspend or terminate access where there is misuse, breach of these terms, non-payment, security risk, or legal necessity.
Where appropriate, we will provide reasonable notice. Following termination, the handling of retained information will be governed by applicable law, any agreed arrangements, and our Privacy Policy.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The updated version will be published on this website with a revised date. Where changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice.
15. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia. Any dispute relating to these terms or the services will be subject to the courts of South Australia, unless otherwise required by law.
